The business of Roosevelt Coffeehouse is about doing good.
The downtown Columbus coffee shop opened last month at 300 E. Long St., but while it looks every bit the standard urban cafe, it isn’t. Owner Kenny Sipes started Roosevelt as a nonprofit social enterprise operation. Once employees and expenses are paid, profits won’t go into his pocket. Instead, the money will go toward charitable organizations.
“I felt this would be the best way to raise funds,” he told me.
