Coffee roaster Counter Culture will open a training center at 851/2 Spring St. in Charleston in July. The coffee lab will serve as a hub for coffee professionals and those who want to take classes and learn more about coffee. It will have one room dedicated to espresso, one for cuppings and one for latest coffee equipment.
Each Friday, it will offer a free coffee tasting to the public at 10 a.m., as part of the company’s Tasting@Ten event held at all nine training centers across the nation.
The North Carolina-based company’s coffee can be found in several places throughout Charleston, including City Lights Coffee, Black Tap, The Muddy Water Coffee Bar, Edmund’s Oast, Bull Street Gourmet and others.
